These snow chains are claimed to be the best on the market, and examining them in more detail I must say I have to agree.

When winter weather bites and the going gets really slippery then many cars struggle to cope with the conditions and although the answer is probably to fit specialist winter tires this is not always practical. This is when a good pair of chains comes into their own.

The Thule K Summit are particularly good for several reasons.

1) 0mm projection behind the tire. on many modern vehicles there are cables and brake components which many snow chains would snag on causing severe damage. This is not the case with the K-Summit

2) Wide range of sizes which means you should be able to find a pair to fit any vehicle from high performance with low profile tires to large SUVs with large high tires. By adding or removing components they are easily adjusted.

3) Quick fitting and removal One of the quickest to fit on the market. OK snow chains are not exactly hard to fit but in bad weather with cold fingers it can be another matter all together. The simple attachment and self adjusting ratchet that pulls the chains onto the tire make this a very easy system to fit.

4) Fold away easily with collapsible arms that allow them to fit into a handy carrying bag. Lets face it for much of the year for many of us that is where they will stay.

5) High Quality build that is made to last. These should give many years of service and with removeable and interchangeable parts spares should not be a problem in the unlikely event of loss or breakage.

6) No fixed components. One of the other leading quick fit brands requires a fixed component on the wheel. This makes changing the wheel in the event of a puncture a very difficult job.
